Kappel is served by a bus line that runs to Olten every half hour. In the neighbouring municipality of Hägendorf there is also a stop of the Swiss Federal Railways. Kappel can also be reached quickly by car, as it is located between the A1/A2 Oensingen and Oftringen motorway feeder roads.

Despite the good accessibility, Kappel has been able to retain its rural charm. The municipality offers its inhabitants a wide range of leisure activities. In over 30 clubs there is gymnastics and singing and indulging in club life. Once a year, on the first weekend in September, the village associations organize a village chilbi with many attractions.
