Chocolate show and the most desirable international schools

Versoix is a French-speaking municipality in the canton of Geneva. It is located on the shores of the Geneva lake and counts nearly 13 500 inhabitants (the « Versoisiens »). It is here that the Astronomical Observatory of Geneva University is located allowing each month to take part in astronomical observation sessions. It is also here that all Swiss chocolate lovers will feel at home. Both the chocolate manufacturer Cartier and producer of pralines Favarger are planted in Versoix. The first of them was founded in 1858 and the second (founded in 1826) moved to Versoix in 1875. The city hosts the FestiChoc which is the biggest Swiss festival dedicated to chocolate. With its rich greenery, plains and forest and with the blue of the Geneva lake, the city offers a high quality level of life and attracts families with children. In Versoix like in all other small municipalities around the Geneva lake, you may immerse into  the atmosphere of eternal holidays. In summer, you can walk along the shores and admire the beauty of its residential area with historical buildings, yacht port and beaches. In winter, you won’t be disappointed since the alpine ski stations are very close. The city of Geneva is only a few kilometers away and the public transport (tramways, buses and boats of CGN) is efficient and reliable.

Real estate: living in Versoix

Versoix is a young, active and sport friendly city. The center of Bécassière providing tennis, athletics, football, pétanque, swimming and other activities as well as many other sport clubs will allow you to practice as many disciplines as you may dream of. In winter, the ice rink is organised in Verger. Both hikers and sport amateurs cross their paths on the trails stretching along the lake or meet in nice restaurants serving local specialties, especially the famous perch fillets freshly caught in the lake. The local market takes place on Tuesday starting from 10 am and on Saturdays from 9 am till 1 pm in the square called Place de la Gare. The city provides all well-off families with a possibility to send their children to the Collège du lac Léman which is a private and widely renowned international school. The property sector offers luxurious apartments with stunning views on the lake. The residential housing is available both in the city center and off the city hidden in the unspoiled nature. Prices per m² are high. They are however generally lower than property prices in Geneva or in Lausanne.
